Care & Cleaning Tips
Learn how to make your precious pieces shine and extend their lifespan!

Gemstone care
Our Herzog Loibner pieces of jewelry are hand-made for you in our goldsmiths in Liechtenstein from high-quality 18-carat gold. Each gemstone is selected and set with great love after strict inspection. After leaving our premises, your precious items remain a valuable concern for us. Deposits of soap, creams and dust take the shine off your jewelry over time. Take care of your jewelry and entrust it to your trusted jeweler regularly for thorough cleaning. At Herzog Loibner, cleaning your jewelry is a matter of course, so that not only you, but also your precious items shine in full splendor on every occasion. It is best to use a polishing cloth for cleaning at home. With diamonds, you can also clean the diamonds under warm water with an old toothbrush and soap.

Tips for everyday life
Gemstones are wonderful companions in everyday life. Due to their color, brilliance and hardness, colored gemstones are among the most valuable precious stones. Wear the gemstones every day without hesitation, but take them off when working in the garden or around the house. Gemstones are hard and resilient, but they are not indestructible. You should also be careful with perfumes and cosmetics, as the fruit acid could be aggressive. Extreme exposure to the sun, for example in a solarium, could also reduce the shine of some gemstones such as chalcedony.
Some gemstones are harder than others and are therefore best stored separately. Diamond is the hardest gemstone and could scratch other gemstones such as tourmaline, coral and turquoise. Therefore, always store the diamond separately in your jewelry box.
